Motorola Invests In Disruptive Touch Mobile Phone Solutions

EuropeMotorola has invested in a company which excels at designing NUI ( natural user interfaces ) and in multi touch mobile platforms. The company, Sensitive Object, has patented technology capable of " tactilising " almost any surface.

Sensitive Object’s ReverSys unique software uses acoustics to analyse sound waves which are transmitted something is touched e.g. mobile device screen.

The software can be deployed into mobile devices which have a “touch” user interface included such as for a touch screen or touch control mobile phone or device.

The company’s Anywhere MultiTouch platform offers tactiliation to almost any surface of a mobile device and is classed as a next generation user interface with virtual controls .

NUI ( Natural user interface ) and interacting with a mobile device through touch is an area of rapid development in the mobile sector. Sensitive Object said that Motorola is a perfect partner for its disruptive touch solution considering Motorola’s innovative history with mobile phones.

As touch and haptics have become standard interaction expectations for personal computing and handheld devices, Sensitive Objects demonstrates that acoustic (vs. resistive, capacitive, and optical) tactilisation is the state of the art in terms of both performance and cost, and its platform will set a new standard for full 3D device tactilisation.
