Nokia Ovi Maps - Latest Version Available Free

Nokia have announced its Ovi Maps software will be available free. Ovi Maps is Nokia’s mobile navigation software and a new version has just
been released. There is a close up demo of Nokia Ovi Maps below.
The new version includes high-end functions such as turn-by-turn
voice control for 74 countries, traffic information in more than 10
countries and maps for over 180 countries.
Obviously, for free software that is a huge feature list which will
no doubt have other navigation software companies worried.
Nokia must be hoping that the adoption of its software will lead to
the opportunity to get consumers interested in its other services,
content and location features. All new Nokia GPS-enabled
smartphones ( beginning March 2010 ) will have the latest version
of Ovi Maps installed.
For existing Nokia smartphone users the free sat-nav (Nokia
N97 mini, 5800 XpressMusic, 5800 Navigation Edition, E52, E55, E72,
5230, 6710 Navigator, 6730 classic and X6 ) is available now and

Recent research suggests this could be a masterstroke from Nokia.
Apparently, 27 million people used navigation on their mobile phone
and that will grow to 50 million with smartphones included.
We think this could be a very good move from Nokia.
